Southwest Stocker Cattle Conference set
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Fifth Annual Southwest Stocker Cattle Conference is slated for Sept. 25 at the Great Plains Technology Center in Lawton.
The 8:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. conference will take place in the Worley Seminar Room. Coffee will be provided prior to the first session. The Great Plains Technology Center is located at 4800 W. Lee Blvd.

“The Southwest Stocker Cattle Conference will offer cattle producers the opportunity to gain a lot of valuable information,” said LeValley. “I would encourage stocker cattle producers to attend the conference to learn the most up-to-date issues concerning stocker management.”
Topics and speakers include: Wheat Fertility Update, Mark Gregory, OSU Cooperative Extension area agronomist; Wheat Pasture Lease Arrangements, A.L. Hutson, cattle producer and retired OSU Cooperative Extension area agricultural economist; Farm Program Update, Stan Bevers, Texas A&M University, Extension economist with the Vernon Research and Extension Center; Supplemental Feeding of Stocker Cattle Grazing Wheat Pasture, Dave Lalman, OSU Cooperative Extension beef cattle specialist; and Cattle Market Situation and Outlook, Derrell Peel, OSU Cooperative Extension livestock marketing specialist.
“This year’s conference offers a variety of topics for producers: the speakers bring a lot of knowledge to the conference,” said LeValley. “I believe this conference will present participants with great information they can take back and apply to their own operation.”
The Fifth Annual Southwest Stocker is sponsored by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, a statewide agency that is part of OSU’s Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
